Drafting Manager
Direct Hire- Alvarado, TX (Onsite 5 Days/Week)
$80,000–$120,000+ Base + Bonus Potential

Imprimis Group/IGXperts has partnered with a growing manufacturing organization in Alvarado, TX that is seeking a hands-on Drafting Manager to lead a large, high-volume drafting operation supporting complex engineered products and manufacturing projects.
This is not a corporate desk-management role. This team needs a leader who can handle a fast-moving environment, shifting priorities, production pressure, and large team oversight while still staying close to the operation.
The right person will bring strong drafting leadership experience, technical credibility, and the ability to manage both people and workflow at scale.
Responsibilities Include:
- Lead and develop a large drafting organization across U.S. and international teams.
- Oversee productivity, drawing quality, workflow management, and project deadlines.
- Partner closely with engineering, manufacturing, production, and project teams.
- Manage constant drawing revisions and fast-paced operational demands.
- Coach, mentor, and develop drafting talent while building structure and accountability.
- Improve drafting processes, communication flow, and department efficiency.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives across drafting and engineering operations.
- Remain hands-on with drafting workflows, problem-solving, and technical direction.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of drafting leadership experience managing medium-to-large teams.
- Experience leading high-volume drafting or detailing environments.
- Strong knowledge of AutoCAD and Inventor required.
- 3D CAD experience required.
- Engineering or manufacturing background strongly preferred.
- Experience supporting custom, engineered-to-order products highly preferred.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a demanding production environment.
- Comfortable leading teams through change, pressure, and shifting deadlines.
